Named codes lists are set up and maintained in StudentInformation to specify the attendance-related codes, student status, and other codes used in each school in your district. GradeBook provides default named codes groups for you to use that remain in the system. Once you have set up the named codes lists, they remain in your system from year to year. If changes need to be made to named codes, they must always be made in StudentInformation—but some named codes also require you to make the change in GradeBook.
The specific code lists and their uses are distributed throughout this manual within the subjects to which they are related. For example, most attendance codes are covered in “Attendance Setup,” while student codes are covered in “Maintain Students.” Refer to the “Named Codes Lists” table below containing the page numbers where you can find more detailed information about each named code list.
