For GradeBook users with school administrator privileges, only the schools to which they have been assigned display on the screen. Enabling or disabling these features affects the functionality to which other GradeBook users have access, which is explained in detail for each option. Ensure that you also select StudentInformation/DASL for each school on the Data Integration Setup screen. See “Setting Up Data Integration.”
The following school features are available on the Period Attendance tab:
•Enable – Lets schools take period attendance in classes on the Period Attendance and Seating Chart screens. The Period Attendance link also displays in the website banner on the GradeBook Grid. When this feature is disabled, note the following:
•The Period Attendance link does not display on the Teacher Home Page.
•The Period Attendance and Period Attendance by Seating Chart links do not display on the Class Dashboard.
•The Period Attendance link does not display on the GradeBook Grid.
•The Allow period attendance to be taken with this chart option and are not available on the Seating Chart.
•Prior Day – Lets teachers enter or modify period attendance for days prior to the current day on the Period Attendance screen and Seating Chart screens (see “Set Prior Days to Change Period Attendance” ).
•Live Integration – Lets schools read and save period attendance and period attendance by block data from StudentInformation when available on a real-time basis (only enabled if your district runs live period attendance).
•By Block – Lets teachers take period attendance by block in classes that meet for multiple blocks on the Period Attendance screen. The Enable checkbox must be selected for this option to function. When this feature is enabled and the class meets for multiple blocks, each block displays in a separate column in which the teacher can enter an attendance code. On the Period Attendance screen, displays to let teachers set the desired default view. The Take Attendance by Block link displays in the website banner on the Seating Chart screen.
•Auto-Roster – This option does not apply to school districts that are integrated with StudentInformation

Set Prior Days to Change Period Attendance
You can specify for all schools or each school individually the number of days prior to the current day for which teachers can enter or modify period attendance on the Period Attendance screen or Seating Chart.
1.On the Administrator Home Page, below District Setup, click School Features.
The School Feature Setup screen Period Attendance tab displays.
2.To set the number of days prior to the current day for which users can enter or modify period attendance for all the schools in the district, in the Prior Day column, in the All schools row, click either multiple or 365 day(s).
Note: To set the number of days prior to the current day that you can enter or modify period attendance for an individual school, click 365 day(s) in the Prior Day column for that school.
3.In the Number of days to allow field, enter the appropriate number of days. The default is 365.
4.Click Update.
The number of prior days is updated for the selected schools, and a success message displays.

Teachers cannot enter or modify period attendance on the Period Attendance screen or Seating Chart on any day past the set number of days permitted for period attendance. On the Period Attendance screen, in the Class Attendance drop-down list, the list of attendance codes is not available, and the following message displays: “Altering period attendance in the past is only available for [#] day(s) prior to the current date.”
The following school features are available on the Daily Attendance tab of the School Feature Setup screen:
•Offer Daily Attendance – Lets teachers take daily attendance in classes on the Daily Attendance screen and Seating Chart. When you select only this option, daily attendance displays in ParentAccess with a note Read from: GradeBook.
•Allow Prior Day Changes – Lets teachers enter daily attendance for days prior to the current day on the Daily Attendance screen and Seating Chart.
•Enable Live SIS Integration – Lets schools read and save daily attendance data from StudentInformation on a real-time basis. When you select this option, daily attendance displays in ParentAccess with a note Read from: StudentInformation. When you select only this option, teachers are unable to take daily attendance or make changes in GradeBook.

Schools can enable ReportBuilder reports on the Reports tab.

You can enable medical, custody, miscellaneous, and/or disability alerts so that details about a particular student’s alert(s) display on the Student Profile screen. Additionally, when SIS Alerts are enabled and a student’s record includes an alert, an icon displays beside the student’s name on the Class Dashboard screen.
1.On the School Feature Setup screen SIS Alerts tab, select the checkbox in the column and row corresponding to the alert type and school for which you want to enable alerts. Or, select the checkbox in the All schools row to enable an alert type for all schools in your district.
2.Click Save.

When you enable discipline on the Discipline tab, GradeBook users with the role of teacher, principal, guidance, clerk, master, or school administrator can report discipline incidents.
1.On the School Feature Setup screen Discipline tab, select the checkbox in the row corresponding to the school for which you want to enable discipline reporting. Or, in the Enable Discipline? column header, select the checkbox to select all schools.
2.Click Save.

On the Student Search tab, you can specify—by building—whether teachers can search for students within their own classes (default), their school, or the entire school district.
1.To change the default setting and let teachers search for students who are not in their own classes, on the School Feature Setup screen Student Search tab, in the Search Within drop-down list for each school, select Teacher’s School or Entire District.
2.To display student photos in the quick-view area of the search results, select the Enable Student Photos checkbox in the row of the school for which you want to display photos. Or, in the Enable Student Photos column header, select the checkbox to select all schools.
3.Click Save.
