District Features

To enable a feature for the entire school district, complete the following:

1.On the Administrator Home Page, below District Setup, click District Features.

2.On the Feature Selection screen that displays, select the Use? checkbox for any of the following features you want to enable:

Parent/Student Access – This option allows access to ParentAccess. Parents and students can access the application once they have been provided registration keys to create their accounts or once they have had their accounts imported. Students may also sign in with Google if you configure this ability in GradeBook. See “Configuring Google™ Services Integration” and the ProgressBook ParentAccess Administration Guide for more information.

Note: Enabling this also provides access to the Frontline ProgressBook Parent & Student app if your technology center has configured for it.

Standards – This option allows the use of academic standards with lesson plans and assignments. GradeBook provides state academic standards for core subjects, but additional content areas can be entered and edited by users with the curriculum, school administrator, and master roles.

Teacher Roster Setup for All Courses This option should be disabled. Teacher roster data is imported from StudentInformation; when this feature is disabled, teachers can still be given the ability to update class rosters on an individual course basis if the GradeBook system manager selects that option on the Update Course window.

Lunch Counts – This option provides the ability for teachers to enter lunch counts on the Lunch Counts screen. Lunch choices are customizable for individual schools and can be entered and edited by users with the Cafeteria Worker,
GradeBook - Principal, School Support, School Administrator, or Master job functions in StudentInformation.

Debugging for DASL (Keep off unless testing) – This option should be disabled except in rare cases for troubleshooting.

Enable Attendance Short Comments – This option allows a second (abbreviated) comment field to be used on the Absence Queue screen.

Import DASL External Student Status Code – This option allows the import of the student’s status Code (as seen on the Student Status Codes Maintenance screen in StudentInformation) from the Edit Student Profile screen General tab in StudentInformation. If you deselect this option, the Overall Student Status (as seen on the Student Status Codes Maintenance screen) associated with the student status code is imported. Regardless of your selection, the student status is imported to the student’s record during nightly integration.

Staff Password Changes – This option provides users who are ProgressBook authenticated with the ability to change their password on the Change Password screen.

Class Notifications – Lets teachers send emails to parents and/or students who registered a email addresses in ParentAccess.

Live Integration Auditing – Logs student homeroom changes from StudentInformation to the database.

Require attendance for newly integrated homerooms – This option lets you control whether a new class from StudentInformation is selected automatically on the Set Up Required Homerooms screen during integration.

Enable Student Status Code View – Lets teachers view the student status code on the Class Dashboard, the Daily Attendance screen, and the Period Attendance screen. See the Import DASL External Student Status Code option for more information.
